My Friend(s) and I Want to Swim Together
If you are the same gender, you have the option of entering the Open (Male) or Open (Female) waves. Alternatively you have the option of entering into the Back of the Pack wave (no gender or age group restrictions). As waves will be filled based on order of registration, we recommend registering at the same time so you are allocated into the same wave.
If you are entering with a friend or family member with the same gender and in the same age category, you can enter into the Age Category waves. Alternatively you have the option of entering into the Open mixed waves (no gender or age group restrictions). As waves will be filled based on order of registration, we recommend registering at the same time to ensure you are allocated into the same wave.
Can I enter the 5km swim?
If you have registered in the 2017 or 2018 Cole Classic 5km swim, you will automatically qualify and the 5km Start Wave will be available for selection during registration. If you did not compete in the last 2 years but have completed a different ocean swim, please fill out the Pre-Qualification Form on our Entry Details page. We will consider any results from the past 24 months for a distance of at least 3.5km. We ask that you please allow 48 hours for your request to be processed and await confirmation from our team prior to registering.
If you have not previously completed an ocean swim, please have your coach complete the Swimmer Certificate of Competency Form on our Entry Details Page. If you do not have a regular swim coach, we recommend you contact Vlad Swim to receive a free swimming evaluation. For more information, visit the Training Page of our website.
Can I enter on the day?
Event entries will close at 5pm the day before each event; no entries will be taken after this time.
Can I enter multiple people during the registration process?
Yes, when you arrive at the cart contents page of the registration process, click “Register Another”. You can now commence the registration for additional entrant(s). Please note that all registrations will be paid for in one transaction.
Can I change my Start Group?
Please select your Start Group carefully, as once registration is complete, the relevant colour, number and Start Group cannot be changed. Please also note Start Group capacities are subject to availability, and may sell out.
For Sun Run, entrants are able to start behind their registered Start Group but not before. Therefore, if your friends or family are starting in a group after yours you can drop back on the day and run with them, likewise if they are in a Start Group ahead of you they can drop back. Please note starting before your allocated start time will result in a disqualification due to front Start Group safety capacities.
For Cole Classic you must start in your designated Start Wave, otherwise you will be disqualified.
